Although Google provides some of the best free webmaster tools available, most people are not aware of them. Moreover, many webmasters who are aware of them have not taken the time to investigate the potential of these free tools. What ever the reason for not using Google’s tools, webmasters who do not use them are placing themselves at a major disadvantage to those who do. In order to access these tools, all you need to do are two simple things. First, you must get a free account with Google, as they are available only to registered users. Second, get an Adwords account with Google even if you do not anticipate any advertising for your web site. This step is so that you will have access to some of their most powerful webmaster tools.

Most people now know that Google has a keyword suggestion software package, which they offer for free, that helps you find keywords that will help your online business. All parts of your internet business can benefit from conducting keyword research. If you ignore keyword research, your online business is much more likely to fail. Simply search for “Google keyword suggestion” and go to the first Google search result, and you will find the keyword suggestion tool.

Site analytics software is the next powerful tool in your arsenal. While you need an Adwords account, it is an amazing tool that tracks the visitors to your website. It allows you to see a ton of data, including how they found you, and if they are converting to customers and/or leads on your site. While similar software exists, it’s usually quite expensive and not nearly as powerful or user friendly. Any serious webmaster absolutely must take advantage of this software.

Webmaster tools is a recent addition to their collection of tools that enables you to obtain a list of pages on the internet that link directly back to you, find out how many pages you have in your index, and figure out any noticeable problems with your pages. Google recently created this tool to aid us in the endless hours of archiving, indexing and troubleshooting our internet web pages. In some opinions, this tool is more valuable than Google itself, with relation to why your page does or doesn’t rank in top brackets for web searches.
