Add Website to Google
Adding your website to Google is the first step in developing an effective SEO campaign with the primary goal being your business visibility and profitability. However, simply adding your website to Google is exactly that, just a first step. In order to have any significant relevance on this leading search engine, you must be willing to go a little further and do a little be more. Anything less, your efforts may be null and void and your may neglect to have a vital presence on the web. That’s the goal, isn’t it? To obtain prominent web placement that could lead to unimaginable business opportunities. The great news is that this goal isn’t impossible to obtain, but it will take work.
You may be aware that to actively have your website added to Google’s search engine doesn’t necessarily take any action on your part. Google crawls the web on a regular basis and finds sites to index in their system.
Majority of the sites on Google are not listed through manual submissions. However, if you are offering content, services or specialized products you may want to take the step to actively submit your site on the search engine.
Submitting your website to Google is simply an indicator that you are actively seeking consideration. Keep in mind that not all submitted websites are added and there aren’t any predictions or guarantees about when or if your site will appear. When actively adding your website to Google you are also given the opportunity add keywords that describe the contents on your page.
Google makes it very clear that there are sites that will be missed when being added to the search engine’s index due to errors associated with the site. Here are a few red flags to avoid in order to increase the likelihood of appearing in Google’s index:
The design of the site makes it difficult for your site content to be crawled thus effecting categorizing. Your site content is the basis of your site’s relevance on Google. If there is an error in detecting content your site is ultimately useless for the search engine. Let relevant and readable content be your priority. Work with a Google friendly CMS (Content Management System) like WordPress and make sure your site is not all flash!
The site isn’t well connected through multiple links from other sites on the web. If links to your site aren’t available anywhere else on the web outside of your site (as an external link) it gives the impression that whatever is available on your site may only be relevant or of any importance to you and no one else. It is important to Google that your site be vastly branded.
If your site is temporarily unavailable when Google did a crawl or there is an error received when Google attempts to crawl, your site will then be overlooked. Be certain that your site is active and without any fundamental errors.
Google offers “Google Webmaster Tools” that can assess your site and report any errors that must be fixed in order to be considered to you. You can create a Google account and submit your site using a dynamic sitemap to Google, control how Google’s sees your site and track many statistics.
If these red flags are not of concern of yours, then you are on the right track for consideration for placement in Google’s index. Keep in mind that placement is the index is irrelevant if it is buried pages and pages within the search engine. The goal is always premiere standing on the search engine.
